This place is great because your hotel experiences inspiring. For sure we like to all of the animals and plants, and the really cool birds. You're in a Zoo at the hotel which is pretty much one-of-a-kind as far as I know. Maybe they have stuff like this in Africa but not too much of this kind of thing is here in Florida or even the Everglades for that matter.
This is a wonderful place and a little bit pricey but not as bad if you can split it between two couples. It is definitely worth staying one night and then you can always go to one of the cheaper hotels like the Fairfield Inn for example, but stay here for sure as long as your budget can afford it.
Our son manages to ride the water slide at least 40 times before we drag him off to dinner. Make sure you see the backside of the pool area surrounded by pink flamingos and African spoonbills. I love the restaurant menus with stuff like Durban shrimp curry and braised beef short ribs. See the huge palm trees outside the restaurant's floor-to-ceiling windows.
For food, we would recommend the resort's signature Jiko Restaurant. The restaurants have South African wines and appetizers like naan and artisanal cheeses. It is a Way Cool Orlando Hotel.
So pretty it is inside the main area and hallways, plus rooms is one of the largest collections of african art ever. Staying here is inspiration to eat out at a themed cafe like Mikado Sushi orlando and there are many others near the hotel. We choose to eat some in and some close by.
You will like the food here, it is noted for the award-winning on-site-themed restaurants. It for sure has a lot of big animals. I like the style at Disney deluxe resorts, just a bit pricey at this high end level. We liked it and would say do not miss the uwanja camp. There's one hotel here to fit every budget, even super thankfully-cheap Fairfield Inn and suites on I-Drive.
